From the Health Perspective
In Tibetan medicine, the Earth element is one of the five fundamental elements that constitute all phenomena, both internal and external. It is associated with qualities of solidity, stability, and structure, providing the foundation for physical existence and development. This element is responsible for the formation of muscles, bones, the nose, and the sense of smell. Earth gives the body its physical form and supports the integrity of tissues and organs, contributing to the body's ability to stand upright and maintain structural coherence. It is also linked to the sense of smell and the stability of bodily systems, playing a crucial role in maintaining balance within the body's constitution.
When the Earth element is in harmony with the other elements, it supports physical strength and mental clarity; however, an imbalance may lead to issues such as heaviness, stagnation, or rigidity in both body and mind.
