Boys are falling behind in school, and some experts say it starts in Kindergarten
MALES MENTAL GROWTH CRISIS STIGMA: Boys are falling behind in school, and some experts say it starts in kindergarten. On the standardized French proficiency test in secondary school, boys are below the median for all students, with just over 60 per cent meeting the bar, while it's over 70 per cent for girls. The report also indicated boys are less likely to get into prestigious academic programs in high school.
When I heard this episode it made me angry and made me think. I was a parent of the immigrant child who spoke two languages at birth: Russian & English in the Kindergarten. He was labeled ADHD in a Cherry Hill School District, Colorado. He went to Verona Elementary before in NJ. They did not consider him ADHD in Verona. They had considered him a normal child, he faced September 11 in a classroom. My son was apparently irritating all Catholic teachers in Colorado... Which stigmatized & ruined his whole entire education history, but?
He is 30 now, never took any medications for the diagnosis, I refused to accept it and fought this diagnosis. He was the happiest child I had, I tried my best to shelter him from any hardships in life, and in-spite of anything he experienced in life - he grew up to be a very good person, kind and carrying. Lonely, but very kind, he now works a … store manager, of the Cannabis Dispensary. He basically runs it: from cashier station to the back end cannabis delivery. You know what is very interesting? People, with may year of experience in the industry … can no keep up with him. Ouch. Why? He LOVES to study ... the LAW….
Do now allow traditional school system label your child anything. Find Alternative Education Options. My two other sons transferred to the paid Private High School after the 8th grade in public Rollin Hills Middle, Los Gatos, CA. Both now attending Community Colleges in NY & CA, both studying “General Engeneering”. They all love math… My “AHDH son” went to De Anza College, California, for 2 years for “Psychology and Business”, but dropped out. Experiential Management was much better fit for him.
Private High School can run from $4,000 online to up to $16K a year, for something like Stanford High Online. But it is worth is. Select one based on your financial abilities. There are affordable Private High Schools Online that are accredited and accepted by the majority of Ivy League Colleges. Up to the 8th grade my sons all went to the public Blue Ribbon Schools, after the 8th Grade I sent them all to the Private Online High Schools. It did cost over $36K for two of them to graduate.
